Fort Clinch State Park is located on the northernmost point of Amelia Island. This park, which includes one of the most well preserved 19th century forts in the country, covers 1,100 acres of undeveloped natural Florida coastline

The park is located at the entrance to the Cumberland Sound and has been part of the Florida State Park system since opening to the public in 1938 offering not only the opportunity to explore history, but the unique coastal ecosystems encountered here as well. The property consists of coastal dunes, plains, maritime hammocks and tidal marsh along with the undeveloped 3 miles of beautiful Florida shoreline.

The six mile self-guided trail offers bountiful opportunity to enjoy naturalist adventures observing the local flora and fauna away from the beach. Biking, paddle-sports, fishing and camping are popular activities at this park which includes 2 campgrounds along with hot water showers available for a modest fee.
